Value Chain
A value chain defines how value is created at each stage of production of a product. Analysing a value chain is an end-to-end process that breaks down all the stages of production from raw materials to finished product. It evaluates what value is being created at each stage and the cost of that value-add. This leads to optimised efficiency and profit maximisation and can help companies compete smarter – either as a low or lowest-cost provider of a commoditised product or adding product features to create differentiated products that consumer will pay extra for.
