Summary
How important is body language when delivering a script?

Body language is as crucial as your script when delivering with impact. To keep your audience engaged and avoid appearing bored, adopt an attitude that is authentic, engaged, positive, and open. This helps you stay in communication mode instead of being self-conscious.

To embody open, enthusiastic body language, remember to smile as if you're speaking directly to your audience. Use clear hand gestures to illustrate your points, keeping your hands fairly close to you but allowing them to move. Movement helps you think better and appear more animated and present. Maintain an active posture by avoiding slouching or resting too much; keeping your core engaged will sustain your energy throughout filming.

How can active breathing help manage nerves?

Active breathing is essential in regulating nerves. It provides a foundation for managing nervousness by allowing you to breathe more effectively. Before starting, take deep breaths and remember to breathe throughout the video.

Breathing also creates necessary pauses, helping you and your audience stay focused. To practice, place your hands on your ribs and feel your diaphragm expand. Do five breaths using your diaphragm to activate the parasympathetic nervous system. This technique not only calms nerves but also enhances your delivery.

What are some techniques to warm yourself up for a better performance?

Warming yourself up is key to delivering your best performance. Just before speaking, choose an attitude that suits you, such as being clear, enthusiastic, or calm. Selecting one or two attitudes helps you focus during your video.

Stay active by taking deep breaths and physically warming up with shoulder rolls or a few jumps. Warm up your voice by practising tongue twisters. Revisit the intention you set for your video to give you a clear frame, such as sharing specific tips. This preparation helps frame the right attitude and ensures you are ready to deliver with impact.

How can you stand out and improve your video delivery?

To stand out, consider recording yourself delivering the first few lines of your script and watch it back. Although it might be uncomfortable, this is the best way to receive feedback on what to improve.

Remember, you are encouraged to be in touch for more help and support. Ultimately, the goal is to enjoy the process and have fun while delivering your videos.
