Marginal Utility
The economic theory of Marginal Utility measures how much added benefit or satisfaction (utility) a consumer garners from increasing (marginal) consumption of a given good. Over time, levels of satisfaction reduce, hence the marginal benefit diminishes and ultimately turns negative. This effect impacts preparedness to buy at a constant price hence demand over time
