Net Operating Profit Less Adjusted Taxes
M&A and LBO analysts use net operating profit less adjusted taxes, or NOPLAT, to isolate a target’s free cash flow. NOPLAT is a company’s unlevered pre-tax operating profit i.e. excluding interest expense. It is a clean measure of a company’s core operating performance.
