Competent level

Over the course of this pathway, we will look at how we understand and assess the investment skill of a professional portfolio manager. We need to understand if they performed well, and if so, how that performance was generated. Managing an investment portfolio is a complex activity which requires specific knowledge, adept decision-making and very strict discipline. Using a set of tools to uncover the skills that make a successful portfolio manager can provide useful feedback to objectively measure your abilities and to determine how to improve them. The tools presented in this pathway are usually used in an institutional context, but can be used by individual investors looking to improve their own investment discipline.
