Ciaran Rooney

Ciarán is the Chief Technology Officer of Finance Unlocked Ltd, the company behind the learning platforms Finance Unlocked and Sustainability Unlocked. He has over 20 years of experience in technology, cybersecurity and operations. Ciarán has held the role of CTO of several successful startups, including; busuu, one of the world's largest language learning platforms; the ad tech company Skimlinks, a content monetisation platform for some of the world's largest online publishers; and Swoon, a leading direct to consumer furniture brand. He has also been a technical consultant, a startup mentor, a conference speaker, and the Chair of the PHP UK Conference.

Prasad has spent 20 years working in financial services, where he spent the majority of his time at UBS, with his last role there being Managing Director within the combined Debt and Equity capital markets business. Before joining xUnlocked, Prasad worked at an Infrastructure and Renewables advisory business, where he delivered projects such as financing the largest operational solar farm in Australia. Prasad is Chief Content Officer at xUnlocked, a B Corp best known for its flagship learning platform 'Sustainability Unlocked', serving global clients that include Santander, Airbus and the London Stock Exchange.

Mandy Hickson
25 years: Ex-RAF pilot & leadership expert
Mandy Hickson was one of the first female fighter pilots in the Royal Air Force having joined in 1994. Mandy has over 25 years experience within aviation, operating in hostile environments, including patrolling the ‘No Fly’ zone, flying over 50 combat missions over Iraq. Drawing on her experience of calculated risk-taking, leadership, decision-making under pressure and the critical role of the human in the system, Mandy now transfers these lessons from the cockpit to many other management and leadership contexts.

Moorad Choudhry

Professor Moorad Choudhry is a non-executive director at two UK financial institutions, having worked in London since 1989. He has experience in wholesale capital markets, treasury, ALM, and balance sheet management. Moorad's most recent role was as divisional treasurer at the Royal Bank of Scotland. He has also worked with Europe Arab Bank, KBC Financial Products, and JP Morgan. He is the author of "The Principles of Banking," which is currently in its 2nd edition.

He spent many years in asset management before moving into banking in various derivatives and solutions roles. Recently, Richard took a year out and worked with Finance Unlocked to spark further fascination and interest in finance.

Rob Baston

Rob has worked in banking for almost 40 years. He has spent the vast majority of his time in the industry at UBS, where he is now a Managing Director working on specific private projects for the firm and acting as a senior advisor. Prior to this role he ran the Capital Solutions team at UBS, advising European banks on placing AT1 and T2 capital, debt for equity recapitalisations and rights offerings. Prior to working in the industry, Rob completed his D. Phil in Mathematics at the University of Oxford.

Saket Modi

Saket is a financial trainer and consultant based out of London. Tim Hall

Tim has nearly 30 years of experience in the international capital markets at major global institutions and has worked both on the buy-side and the sell-side. He has worked with numerous companies, banks and governments in developed and emerging markets on investment grade and high yield bond issues, from straight-forward to very complex acquisition/leveraged financings. Tim has also been on the board of a UK “challenger bank.” Tim has an MBA from the Wharton School, and is a CFA.

Rupert Walford

Rupert has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry working mainly in international capital markets. He is currently a Managing Director at RBC Capital Markets in London responsible for ECM Execution and Healthcare ECM and Corporate Broking in Europe. Rupert was previously at Linklaters for 8 years, at UBS Investment Bank for 9 years as Head of Global Capital Markets Legal and as a member of UBS's ECM Execution team and subsequently at Deutsche Bank in Compliance covering ECM and Corporate Broking. Rupert has extensive experience in a wide range of investment banking transactions in EMEA, predominantly in the emerging markets and in particular Russia. He is also a qualified lawyer.

Chris Blake
